Warcraft Screenshot Reader is a tool for reading Warcraft 3 screenshots. Some Warcraft 3 custom RPG maps have a color-coded save code which is useful for loading the game to a certain point. The program automatically reads the color-coded save code and displays it as numbers or letters. The feature is useful for online maps in which there were many players and they can't find the save file anymore, or are on another computer and don't have the save file at all.

The program's layout is very simple and well done. All the buttons are in the top left side of the window. There are only 3 buttons : File, Options and Help. In the File section you only have the "Open Screenshot" option with which you can open a screenshot. If the program is running at the same time with Warcraft 3 the screenshot will be automatically brought up and the code revealed. In the Options area you have the option to "Monitor Clipboard" which is useful only when running the program at the same time with Warcraft 3, since a pop-up window will appear with the code. There is also another option , " Set Save Codes Path" which can be used to save all the codes automatically in a text file every time you open a screenshot.

The main downside with Warcraft Screenshot Reader is that not a lot of maps still have the color-coded save code anymore. Nowadays you just get the code when you decide to save in the custom map. Nonetheless, the program is still useful just for reading the Warcraft 3 screenshots since they can only be opened with a program of this type.
